Yes, it is great to be back in Tanzania! But it would be even better if Lynn and I had our bags. We are currently on a three day safari with only our carry on luggage and the clothes we were wearing on the plane.
We have been assured our baggage will arrive but my experience in Tanzania has me somewhat sceptical. Lynn is taking it like an absolute trooper considering the comforts she is having to deal without and I am trying to stay positive but am pretty gutted as it has taken years of sponsorship contributions from Bivouac Outdoors to accumulate my climbing gear. Not to mention the emotional attachment I have with many of the items.
But at the end of the day, we could be in a worse place than spending the day with wild Cheetah, Elephant, Zebra, Giraffe, Warthog and Tortise to name but a few. At the end of the day gear can be replaced and claimed but memories and moments cannot.
We finished the day with a sunset drive out of the park as a heard of Elephant with their young blocked our exit for a time and I thought to myself that this world is a beautiful, wide, interesting and mind blowing place that we must all protect and conserve.
I am unsure when I can next check in, so for now I bid you adieu to go find Simba.
